I’m starting a tutorial series about Greyd.Suit sharing small to-dos and lessons I learn along the way.
What is Greyd?
Greyd.Suite is a powerful, block-based WordPress theme and a suite of tools designed to enhance the core WordPress experience for building scalable websites.
Key features of Greyd.Suite:
- It enhances the WordPress core blocks (Gutenberg) with different options (e.g. animations, responsive controls, styling options, spacing);
- It extends the default blocks with dynamic blocks, which allows using dynamic content for managing flexible layouts;
- It adds many features usually built with many 3rd party plugins: form generator, search & filter, relevance based search, advanced query & filter, custom post types and taxonomies, custom fields, gated content, pop-ups, conditional block, migration, backup and staging, role manager, SMTP.
- Greyd.Suite allows managing multisite in a very easy way.
Speed & Performance
Unlike traditional page builders that add unnecessary bloat, Greyd.Suite is lightweight and optimized for speed. It follows a block-based approach, keeping the code clean and minimal while ensuring fast loading times.
Accessibility-Ready
Greyd.Suite is designed with accesibility in mind, offering the proper tool to build accessible websites:
- screenreader & keyboard compatibility,
- skip link,
- focus outlines,
- semantic HTML,
- Alt-text optimization.
How to start building with Greyd.Suite?
Greyd.Suite is available as a free block-based theme in the WordPress repository, offering a robust set of features right out of the box.
Conclusion
Creatibility.co is the first website I built with Greyd.Suite. In addition to working on real projects, I have been learning and building other pages, trying to understand how it works as a system and documenting everything I’m learning in this daily tutorial series.
