This year, I’ve been working on my first Kadence Template: AI Tech. It was a long process, but the result was stunning. It has a dark mode with a shining color palette, suitable for the tech industry.
This was also my first project of testing and remediation for accessibility.
I followed the guide learned at the Accessibility Testing Workshop at WCEU 24, and the checklist provided by Collen’s Course: Foundation of Website Accessibility. Also, I followed the requirements for “Accessibility-Ready” theme from the official WordPress Theme Handbook.
1. Automated Testing:
- Using Accessibility Checker Plugin, by Equalize Digital
- Using Tota11Y Bookmarklet
2. Manual Testing:
- with Keyboard only and
- paged zoomed at 200% and 400%
- with Windows builtin Screen Reader.
Additionally, I tested the Kadence menu using the extensive process provided by Adam Lowe in this YouTube Video
Accessibility is an ongoing process and it will be updated with new remediations.
You can see the demo of the AI Kadence template, with the pages: Home, About, Services, Contact, Blog, Post. Checkout more about this template on the AI Tech Kadence Template (Description Page).
